Computer exercisesin Physical Chemistry 2, University of Iceland
Two computer exercises should be completed in the second and third week of the semester. The exercises are started in lab sessions in the computer lab in the summer house. Students should then complete the assignments in the following 5 days.
- Lab 1 (in second week), waves on a string and a membrane (review of Matlab and waves): pdf file. Also, review as needed the introduction to Matlab from the first year mathematics courses.
- Lab 2 (in third week), random numbers, Monte Carlo simulations, histograms and statistical analysis of data: pdf file for part A, pdf file for part B
The report for each of these exercises should be a file (use your favorite word processor - TextEdit, Word, TeX, ...) that contains answers to all the questions raised in the lab assignments together with the relevant results. When complete, e-mail a pdf file to the instructor (the e-mail address is hj@hi.is).
